The MSD Panacur Pet Paste is registered for the treatment of infections with hookworms, tapeworms and gastrointestinal nematodes in kittens, cats, puppies and adult dogs. Each injector contains 4,8 g paste, equivalent to 900 mg fenbendazole. The plunger has 18 graduations, each unit corresponding to 50 mg fenbendazole and the desired number of units is selected by turning a ring on the plunger.
For adult cats the dose is 75 mg fenbendazole per kg body weight per day on 2 successive days. A daily dose for 2 kg body weight corresponds to 3 graduations on the plunger. The resulting dosage schedule is as follows, for up to 2 kg body weight it is 3 graduations of the injector daily for 2 days and for 2,1 to 4 kg body weight it is 6 graduations of the injector daily for 2 days. For 4,1 to 6 kg body weight it is 9 graduations of the injector daily for 2 days and so on.
For kittens, puppies and adult dogs up to 6 kg body weight, the dose is 50 mg fenbendazole per kg body weight per day on 3 successive days. A daily dose for 1 kg body weight corresponds to 1 graduation on the plunger. The resulting dosage schedule is as follows, for up to 1 kg body weight it is 1 graduation of the injector for 3 days and for 1,1 to 2 kg body weight it is 2 graduations of the injector for 3 days. For 2,1 to 3 kg body weight it is 3 graduations of the injector for 3 days and so on.
