The Seachem Flourite Substrate for Planted Aquariums is a specially fracted stable porous clay gravel designed for natural planted aquariums. Its appearance lends itself best to planted aquaria, but it can be used in any freshwater aquarium environment. Flourite works best when used alone as an integral substrate bed, but it can also be combined with other gravels. Laterite and other gravel modifiers are not required. It is not chemically coated or treated, and it has no effect on the pH of the water and lasts the life of the aquarium, and does not need to be replaced.
As Flourite is a natural product, it may become dusty in transit and require rinsing before use to remove any residual dust. Fill the aquarium slowly to avoid disturbing the Flourite substrate bed. Place a bowl in the aquarium and fill it with water, allowing it to overflow softly onto the gravel bed. The cloudiness is normal at first. Use mechanical filtration to remove cloudiness (such as filter floss). To expedite clearing, use Seachem Clarity.
