How to use PhosBan

For best results in a reactor
The most efficient way to use PhosBan is in a reactor, such as the Two Little Fishies PhosBan Reactor 150 or 550, which fluidizes the media.

Rinse the media: Briefly rinse the granules with water to minimize dust. Do not stir or agitate the granules excessively, as this can cause them to break down.

Fill the reactor: Place the rinsed granules in the reactor, ensuring the flow is adjusted to a gentle tumble at the surface of the media to prevent pulverization.

Monitor water chemistry: High dosages can cause a drop in alkalinity, so monitor your tank's alkalinity levels and supplement if necessary.
Replace the PhosBan media when you observe phosphate levels beginning to rise again.
