The Seachem Gray Coast Substrate for Aquariums is a natural calcite substrate that is suitable for all types of marine, reef, and tropical aquariums. Its chemical composition will aid in the stabilization of calcium and alkalinity while preventing significant pH drops.

Simply rinse before use to get rid of any remaining dust. Unlike competing "wet" gravels, Gray Coast is sold dry as this bag contains 35% more gravel than an equal-weight bag of wet gravel. These "wet" gravels are marketed in such a way that they appear to contain living, microscopic animals when, in fact, they only contain common bacteria. Bacteria can be found on any substrate, dry or wet. If the goal is to reduce the aquarium cycle time for a new system, a product designed for that purpose (such as Seachem's Stability) would be more appropriate.
