The Seachem Vitality Supplement for Fish is a multivitamin, amino acid, and trace element supplement designed to meet the nutritional needs of marine ornamental fish kept in closed systems for an extended period of time. Vitality contains ascorbic acid in a spirulina and chlorella base. Ascorbic acid is a cofactor in the hydroxylation of proline and lysine to components of procollagen, the precursor of collagen that is required for the formation of connective tissues, scar tissue in wound healing, and bone matrix. Spirulina and chlorella both have a high concentration of amino acids and vitamins. Vitality can be used on freshwater ornamental fish, but it is primarily intended for marine fish.
