The Seachem Discus Trace Water Conditioner for Fish Tanks provides a wide range of trace elements that have been shown to be essential for proper fish health and growth. Fish, unlike terrestrial animals, obtain nutrients from both their food and their surroundings. Trace elements are normally depleted through utilization, oxidation, and precipitation, so they must be replenished on a regular basis. Discus Trace contains only the elements that have been proven to be required by fish.
Aquarium salt is frequently used to replenish salt levels in aquarium water. Some fish will tolerate this therapeutic use of salt, while others will not. This high level of sodium in the water will not be tolerated by Discus as a species. If you keep live plants in your discus aquarium, they will also not tolerate this.
